BALDWIN GRASSROOTS EFFORTS UNDERWAY

The grassroots efforts for the Chuck Baldwin 2008 presidential campaign has already taken off! In similar vein to the famous "Moneybombs" that were launched by the Ron Paul grassroots organizers, there is now a scheduled Memorial Day "Moneybomb" to help raise money for the Chuck Baldwin Campaign.

The Memorial Day "Moneybomb" is naturally being organized to honor those who have paid the ultimate price to preserve our beloved Constitution and Bill of Rights. Other "moneybombs" are being planned for the upcoming summer months as well. All the money raised will go to help the Baldwin Campaign get the message out and gain ballot access in the states where the Constitution Party is not on the ballot.

UPDATE ON NC PRIMARY

Mr. Greene (see: North Carolina Primary) was true to his word: unaffiliated voters could vote in yesterday's primary. I cast my vote, just as I promised by standing upon my principles, in voting for Ron Paul for president. I was glad to see that I was not the only one who is dissatisfied with the ordained front runners. Apparently there are a lot of people who do not want a McCain presidency, as votes were cast for Huckabee, Alan Keyes and some fellow named No Preference.

Unfortunately, everyone wasn't so smart. For governor, we have the choice of Beverly Perdue (no she is not a relative. As my dad would say, she's a generic Perdue, i.e., a wannabe) on the Democratic side, and the sanctuary city mayor of Charlotte, Pat McCrory on the Republican side. Not very good choices at all. As is most cases, there is not much difference between the Democrat and the Republican.

In the 4th Congressional district, BJ Lawson won his primary bid, and will go on to face the Democrat incumbent. I've written about Lawson before, as he seems to be a good, solid man who will base his decisions on the Constitution. It's a pity we didn't have more like him.

On a side note, the socialists in my county were shut down as the voters overwhelmingly rejected that retarded sales tax increase.

VOTE FOR EVIL? THAT IS WASTING MY VOTE!

Today I was looking up at the American Flag, which was folded and placed inside a memorial to my grandfather who fought in WW2. This flag was presented to our family by the US Air Force (which was once the US Army Air Corp.) at his funeral two years ago. And as I was looking up at that flag a disturbing thought dawned on me. If I were to vote for a candidate based on the "lesser of two evils" then I am showing disrespect to all of the American GI's who died on the battlefield. The right to vote is sacred. It implies that you, as a citizen, can choose who you want to represent you in the realm of civic duty and service. Even if the person you vote for doesn't win, the vote was still meaningful if you voted from your heart. If, on the other hand, you vote out of fear or expediency, then your vote; your sacred obligation has been compromised and truly wasted.

So it is with this attitude and newfound respect for my country that I now endorse Chuck Baldwin for President of the United States. "But he can't win" you say. So? The fact is that neither Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, or John McCain has earned my vote. They can't have it. My vote is sacred. This is not a matter of placing some bet on a sporting event. This is not a horse race. No. The GI's who died in the Pacific and in Europe in the 1940's didn't sacrifice their lives just so we can play the odds and speculate about the Executive Branch. They died to preserve the rights that were given to us by God. This is a serious matter. And it is for this reason that from now on I will cast my vote for those who honor God and the Constitution (in exactly that order).

NORTH CAROLINA PRIMARY

UPDATED as of Tuesday morning, 5/6/08

Tomorrow is North Carolina's long ignored primary. As an unaffiliated voter (I'm actually a member of the Constitution Party of North Carolina; however the State government, controlled by Democrats and Republicans who do not appreciate competition, does not recognize any third party), I am barred from voting in the primaries. I can only vote in the cases of court of appeals judges and a stupid sales tax increase that some people wish to pass because the lottery isn't giving them the money they thought it would.

UPDATE: I have been advised by the Secretary of the Cosntitution Party of North Carolina that unaffiliated voters CAN vote in the primary today. He has confirmed this with the State Board of Elections, whose website is rather vague.

Both parties have been telling voters otherwise, and it is not surprising that we can vote in this primary. It is typical election year politics. With over 1.2 million unaffiliated voters in North Carolina, the last thing the two monsters want is for us to swing their primary.

I stand corrected, and apologize for repeating an error.

As far as unaffiliated voters go, I am one of more than 1 million in this state. The NC State Board of Elections gives 1,244,538 as the current number. That's more that 1 million people in North Carolina alone who are sick and tired of the Two Headed Monster that constantly churns out bad representatives in Washington and Raleigh. If those unaffiliated voters were to ban together this election cycle, we could completely change government in our state. Unfortunately, too many, aren't sick enough to take that kind of action.
